T Bone Steaks
T Bone steaks are great for grilling because they have something for everyone: a bone in the middle (for you or your dog), and two types of steak. T Bone steaks come from the short loin (middle) section of the cow, and they’re easily recognizable because of their T-shape.
Characteristics of T Bone steaks include:
•A T Bone steak is the same as a sirloin steak, with the bone left in
•Sometimes referred to as a “junior” Porterhouse steak, T Bone steaks have smaller filet sides
•T Bone steaks are usually cut from 1 inch to 3 inches thick
•T Bone steaks are known for their distinctive look, with the T-shaped bone in the middle
For best grilling results, leave the bone in when you grill the T Bone – that’s where the good flavor comes from!
Grilling time for T Bone steaks: Approximately 14-16 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steak, how well done you want the steak, and the temperature of your grill.
