Flank steak is a lean cut of meat that comes from the underbelly of the cow.
Characteristics of Flank steaks include:
•Flank steaks are usually thin cuts of meat (no more than 1 inch thick in the middle, and slightly thinner on the ends)
•Because of the shape of Flank steaks, it’s easy to prepare the steak to everyone’s liking (more rare sections can come from the middle, while more well-done chunks can come from the ends)
•Flank steak tends to grill quickly
•Flank steak makes great fajitas
Grilling time for Flank steaks: Approximately 3-4 minutes per side on a hot grill turned to high heat (only turn the Flank steak once).
